The sun was setting over the horizon and the sky was painted with a beautiful, deep orange hue. I had been sitting here for hours, my vision focused on the small box in front of me. It was a simple, plastic box that my father had left for me, with instructions to open it after he had passed.

After months of grief, I had finally mustered up the courage to do so.

As I slowly opened the container, I was met with a soft, gentle light. Inside were a stack of letters, each one carefully crafted. I had no idea what they contained and the curiosity was killing me. I knew I wouldn’t be able to read them all in one sitting, but I couldn’t help but want to know what my father had left for me.

I gently opened the first message. Inside was a series of letters, written in a familiar language. I began to read and as I did, my vision filled with sorrow.

My dearest son,

If you are reading this, it means that I have left this world and gone to a better place. I know how hard it must be for you to accept this but I want you to know that I am still here, in spirit.

I want you to remember how much I love you. No matter what happens in life, never forget that. I want you to keep…
